St Brandon's Saltwater fly Fishing
St Brandon's Mauritius
This magical atoll has quickly risen to iconic status in the world of saltwater fly fishing and for good reason. The flats fishing for Bonefish, Indo-Pacific Permit and a host of Trevally species is simply world class! For many years non residents were banned from visiting her shores, but thankfully the red tape has finally been cleared to legally allow us to use the luxurious MY Gryphon for live aboard trips to St Brandon’s.

With A Break In The Weather, Did The Fishing Improve...? Daves Florida Blog

blog story: With A Break In The Weather, Did The Fishing Improve...? Daves Florida Blog
Finally the wind dropped off today, which enabled us to fish some of my favourite marks. Action came thick and fast, again no Tarpon but loads of Sharks, the biggest of these nudging the 200lb mark. Sport was also hectic on the jigging rods, with Mutten Snapper after Mutten Snapper greeting the boat, the biggest of these going into double figures.

I am so pleased that the weather has finally turned, am hoping to head up the back country tomorrow to see if we can get amongst a few Tarpon.

Fingers crossed…

Cheers Dave
