We had some new customers arrive at the camp on Sunday and they were all keen and eager to get straight out fishing, which they did, and within a few hours they were all into fish.
Good friend of mine, and Indian regular Colin Belton, didn’t take long to get into fish, using all his previous experience and angling skill, he was the first off the mark on the Sunday evening. He landed a cracking brace of fish on the lures, a Rapala Shad Rap to be precise, with the fish weighing in at 42lb and 33lb.
Monday, saw the anglers bank over fifty fish, with the biggest going to Mark Swaby, who landed one of 37lb, again there was lots of fish in and around the 20lb mark too.
Tuesday was an exceptional day, and probably the best of the season so far. Colin Belton was at it again with his lures landing a brilliant treble this time, with fish of 37lbs, 26lbs and 24lbs. Colins 37lber was one of five fish caught over 30lb, with Bill Rolfe adding one of 31lb, Chris Slidel 35lb, Mark Swaby 36lb and Al Henderson landing an absolute cracker of 64lb. Al’s fish was the biggest of the trip so far and a great sight for everyone to see, as there has been many big fish lost so far this year!
The good run of fish carried on into yesterday, Colin Belton with a fish of 51lb this time taken on a small live bait. Mick Heljula and Chris Slidel also caught a couple of nice fish on live baits, with Mick landing one a few ounces over 40lb and Chris with one a few ounces over 41lb. Again the number of fish caught throughout the day was very pleasing with over seventy fish landed.
Just a couple of hours ago, Colin Belton, once again leading the way, landed another nice fish on the lures, this time a fish of 52lb. The rivers rising a little and it all looks good, think we could be in for another bumper day today!
Anyway… Phew… that’s a brief round up of the action! Hope its keeping everyone back home entertained, and wetting everyone’s appetites for there coming trips! If you are coming out this year I will see you all soon!
