Barry 'Cuda' Hatton, landed a monsterous Baracuda whilst on one our Jack Simpson escourted trips to Cuba, he sent us a cracking write up and picture, he share's the story with us here...
It snatched a bonefish from the hand of Bemba as he reached into the water to bring it on board for unhooking, and then appeared at the front of the boat where I was standing, with the bonefish in its' jaws, shaking it from side to side.
It then disappeared into deeper water, but only for about a minute, when it re-appeared again at the front of the boat. Bemba put the head of a bonefish on the hooks of a lure, and cast it to the 'cuda. 'Cuda grabbed it straight away, Bemba struck but only had it on for a few seconds when the hooks pulled out. That happened four times, until Bemba gave it more time for the 'cuda to get the hooks fully in it's jaws. Fourth time and the fish was hooked properly, so he gave the rod to Richard to land the fish. It was big! Have attached a photo; what do you think?
