New friends from Australia visited us last week. They shared the fishing with Nicolas from Argentina. They were all young and eager to learn the technique of Spey Casting.
We started last week with good wind conditions and water levels 8 inches below the normal. The water has been very clear and we had nice surprises on the first day of fishing.
We had good fishing during some days of the week and during some others it was a bit slow. However, we were able to catch sea trout and resident trout every day, which kept us alert and full of action.
We continue with the mood of the fish being totally unpredictable, like the previous week, which is why we had to vary between floating and intermediate lines and flies of different patterns. During the week the river rose only two inches, not allowing movement of fish between the pools and the entry of fresh fish.
In general terms, the river has been very low and clear, but thanks to the drop in temperature, we had moments of action in the main river. We hooked a total of 13 sea trout between 3 anglers, but we only landed 9. The biggest fish of the week was a 17 pounder and the average weight was 10,4 lbs. We also caught 55 resident brown trout between 3 to 5 pounds in the main river.
The good news is that we finally have rain in the mountains, promising major changes in the fishing next week. We are starting to see many fish moving and the coming climate changes will no doubt improve the fishing.
Tight lines!!!!

River Conditions: The water level was 10 inches below the normal level and dropping slowly every day.
Water temperature: between 4ºC and 17 ºC.
Water clarity: Very Clear .
Fishing Conditions: Fishing was tough some days, and good other due to climate changes. We caught very nice fish and we ended with an average weight of 10,4 lbs. We caught 9 sea trout and we lost 4 and we also caught lot of resident browns in the main river (55 fish)
Fly lines used: We used only floating lines (AFS lines and Skagit Heads) with intermediate tips, floating tips and sometimes and long leader
Fishing Techniques: The water was flowing enough that simply jigging or stripping the line slowly imparted plenty of action.
Flies Used: We use different nymphs with rubber legs during the day and Small streamers at sunset. Best flies this week were EMB, Bitch Creek, Green Machine
Conditions of the fish: Most of the fish this week were either turning or dark.

David i call the number and talked to Peter Collingswrth, he told me the prices are correct, he said they are the only agent who has a contract with British Airways which means they get discounted rates. I asked home the trip was with out flights but he would not give a price as its sold as a package,

Hi Tom it was good talking to you on the telephone at the weekend. Glad you think our prices are good, as I said there are no hidden extras just the complete package, plus we are also ATOL protected which gives you a lot more protection than if you book the elements seperately. I am also considering a group trip on one of the peak weeks, call me if you want the details. Kind Regards Peter
