Huge Norway Halibut
Havoysund Sea Fishing Norway
Havoysund is a paradise for all types of sea anglers and nature lovers alike. Its one of the most Northerly destinations in Norway, meaning the cold, clear waters bordering on the Arctic Circle make for the perfect habitat for huge Halibut, Cod, Coalfish, Plaice & Haddock. All the fish species grow to huge specimen proportions, with Halibut being a star attraction with fish in the 10-100kg bracket caught regularly. Last year it produced a colossal fish of 165kg! Cod between 3-15kg are in abundance, and one gem, Havoysund is also famous for is it’s unbelievable Plaice fishing, as just outside the camp in the shallow water of the shoreline large Plaice between 2-4kg are regularly caught.

Things Are Starting To Stir From There Winter Slumber At The Kalum River Lodge!

blog story: Things Are Starting To Stir From There Winter Slumber At The Kalum River Lodge!
We have just recieved a little email from Andrew Rushton at the Kalum river lodge, he and his wife Deanna have been out and about enjoying the winter weather and scenery. It looks like the animals and fish are slowly starting to stir from there winter slumber.

Best wishes for the new year to you all.

Despite the deep snow we have been out fishing today on the Kalum River, just a five minute walk from the lodge. My wife Deanna caught several Dolly Varden and a Rainbow. I had one Steelhead on but it escaped before I could get it to the bank.

During our walk along the river we encountered a moose about 30 feet in front of us. It turned and swam through the middle of the pool we were about to fish.

I snapped a couple photos as it reached the other side of the river.

We are looking forward to our next day out.
Andrew Rushton
