Amazing Tarpon Fun
Tarpon Fishing Rio Chico Venezuela
This is a great destination to just have fun; the mangrove tarpon are always obliging to take either your fly or spinners. That is what makes this destination one of the best places to go and learn all about Tarpon fishing. Why not combine this tour with Bonefish Fishing Los Roques, that way we can organise a two centre holiday targeting Tarpon and Bonefish.

The Winds Still Howling, But Are The Fish Still Biting... Read Daves Florida Blog!

blog story: The Winds Still Howling, But Are The Fish Still Biting... Read Daves Florida Blog!
Well we are having no luck with the weather this week… well the wind, today its still gusting 30-35mph! So again, like the previous two days we were forced to fish close to home, in these conditions its essential to be safe, and to be able to head for home quickly if the weather takes a severe turn for the worst. This isn’t a problem though, as these marks are still very productive.

Like the previous two days, today was very much the same, the good fishing continued, with many Sharks greeting the boat, along with barracudas and jacks on the jigging rod. We also had three intense moments of excitement today, as three times we were entertained by huge Tarpon crashing into our livebaits just below the surface, on one occasion almost coming completely out of the water. But unfortunately, we didn’t manage a hook up, this is often the case with Tarpon, they can be very hard to hook and land, making them very frustrating, and leave everyone scratching there heads.

We must be due a break in the weather soon, and as we head to the end of the week I think we might just get one… well fingers crossed!

Cheers Dave
