The fishing at the Jurrassic Lake in Argentina has just commenced for another year and we have the first weeks fishing report and a couple of stunning images! With over one thousand fish caught between the first group its been an absolutely flying start...
The group arrived evening at 6pm. After setting up all the tackle the first cast right in front of the camp resulted in a nice 6 lbs fish. This of course spurred everyone on and the result of this first nights fishing ended up at 124 fish landed.
Next morning we had the group divided into two where some fished just below the camp and Cochino’s Bay, and the others decided to try the river fishing with small egg imitations and indicators. Overall an fantastic day with plenty action and 228 landed fish! We ended the day with a big Asado and plenty of stories.
Next day was sunny and warm so we decided to go for sight fishing in the river. It just adds another dimension to it when casting at fish you actually see. It is also a great way to practice your presentations! Since the group consisted of some really good anglers everyone was successful and we ended up with a total of 251 landed.
On Friday 6 anglers, 2 guides and the chef went to “Vega del Osco” up the river fishing with dries and eggs. Since the weather was so nice we decided to have the “camper” lunch by the river. In the afternoon 4 of the anglers and one guide decided to fish the river all the way back to the camp, trying all hidden pools and pockets along the way. This is a really nice walk with beautiful scenery looking over the lake and plateau and you’ll have some super fun fishing along the way.
The last two days we mainly fished the lake and tried to focus on getting the big silvery ones.
