That Time Again! Dave Plummers Florida Fishing Season Kicks Off In Style...

Sorry for a late update, this season has really crept up on me! I cannot believe it’s that time again already! The start of the season in Florida, and the arrival of the first group of customers!

The first group arrived safely on Sunday morning and we took the first trip of the season late Sunday afternoon. The plan was to fish in to dusk and see if we could get amongst some groups of feeding Tarpon. We had no problem finding the fish, as all my favorite spots were alive, and conditions were nearly perfect. Dan had the best fish of the session, a cracking Tarpon of 125lb, we landed many smaller Tarpon as well as a few sharks mixed in for good measure. This was a cracking start to the season!

Monday morning and everyone was raring to go, confidence was high, with the excellent fish from the night before fresh in the memory. Again the fish were on the feed and we enjoyed another excellent days sport, the only slight negative was the wind, which was gusting 25mph. Monday morning, and it was John’s turn to shine, with another fish over 100lb landed, making it two in as many days. This time it was measured and estimated at 110lb.

The evening session turned out to be equally as fruitful, with Paul completing the hat trick of 100lb fish, landing a beauty of 140lb! I cannot believe what a flying start we’ve enjoyed, everyone has landed a fish over 100lb! and we are only a few days into the trip!

Fingers crossed the wind drops off and the crazy action continues!
