Sweden has majestic mountains and glaciers, as well as wide-open countryside, interspersed by small idyllic villages and vibrant cities such as the capital, Stockholm. It’s a landscape that features countless lakes and waterways just teeming with fresh fish and surrounded by vast pine and spruce forests, mixed with romantic oak, birch and other leafy forests, as you travel further south. The Swedish are people known for their devotion to outdoor activities, come rain, snow or sun, they will be outdoors, living and experiencing life to the full. This country offers a rugged natural environment that begs to be conquered. There’s everything from blood-boiling rapids, soothing streams and endless nature walks and trails. The issue soon becomes what to do next in the short time you have left. But one thing is for sure, you will soon be planning to return. Fishing in Sweden is also a natural pastime in a country that has more lakes and rivers than anyone could possible fish within their lifetime. Both fly and coarse fishing is excellent, with many of the fish being caught for the first time. 

The country's great variety of fish and abundance of good fishing waters have led to increasing numbers of anglers visiting Sweden. With the thrill of being able to catch fish in their natural environments, and on their terms, is the fulfilment of many a visiting angler's dream. For example fly fish and spin for salmon, trout and grayling in any number of many rushing rivers. You can also lure fish and fly fish for pike and perch in the Baltic archipelagos, or why not jig for char in the mountain waters of Lapland in the north. Whatever your favourite catch or whichever type of fishing you prefer, you're sure to find an angler's luck in Sweden!
