There has been some great fishing over the last week, at our sea fishing lodges in Norway. The camps at Havoysund, Tromso and Soroya have been producing some large halibut, cod, plaice and wolfish. In fact over the last week two camp records have been broken... read the full story below!
There has been lots of Halibut caught this week in Havoysund, with fish of 154cm, 140cm and 124cm just in the guide boat. Other groups have also been testing the Plaice fishing, which this destination if famous for, and there has been multiple catches with fish between 2-2.5kg gracing the boats. One angler also had a surprise capture when Plaice fishing, landing a new camp record Lemon Sole, the fish weighed in at 1.7kg and we are told is close to the world record...!
Staying on the records front, another camp record was smashed at Soroya, with a huge spotted Wolfish of 17.1kg landed by one lucky angler, I say lucky, but I wouldn't want to go anywhere near a Wolfish of that size! The boats at Soroya have also been landing some nice Halibut with fish to 35kg, Cod have also been landed to 28kg.
In Tromso the guide Eddie reports really good fishing too, there was a great battle on one of the boats when two anglers had there own Halibut battle, with one angler landing five, and the other landing four, the two biggest of these measured in at over 100cm. However, the biggest fish landed at Tromso, was landed very close to the camp by a German customer, it weighed in at a huge 58kg!
