Angling Direct Holidays customers Aidy and Sharon have just returned from there trip, Sea of Cortez Dreams at the Palma De Cortez resort. They were kind enough to send us a nice report and some pictures, so be sure to check it out below!
Just back from Mexico the sea of Cortez Dreams which can only be described as the holiday of a life time. The fishing was fantastic 3 Striped Marlin and 1 Blue (260lb)
One lost Blue Marlin that did not know it was hooked and emptied the reel of line and backing with one single none stop run before diving and running back at the boat throwing the hook. 13 Dorado’s, plus assorted Tuna and Rooster fish. The boat crews were helpful and friendly leaving me to my own devices but skilfully aiding Sharon to catch her first Marlin during a double hook up of stripped marlin. Top tip never be on the opposite side of the boat to a small lady with a large marlin on with your own marlin hooked up, as the crew ease the pressure for her it usually means you get to feel the true power of these fish on your side. There was also quality fishing from the shore in front of the hotel gar fish, trumpet fish, jacks, lady fish and some I cannot name. Falling to bait and lures, mainly poppers with awesome surface takes.
The hotel is second to none and is as good as it looks in the brochures pictures, friendly staff only to happy to help. Food is of a high quality in the hotel restaurants, but very large as they are used to Americans. We ended up sharing starters and desserts with some starters being large enough for a main meal for two. Most nights we had catch of the day, caught by us and cooked by a fish chef delicious.
The only bad part about this holiday was the end.

Dammit, there's another place I've got to put on the "must do" list. Nice to have a report by real anglers, with Good content and pictures.
