Tromso Halibut
Tromso / Langsund sea fishing Norway
Tromso/ Langsundet is just 45km north of Norway’s largest city, Tromso which is home to 66’000 people, Tromso is often referred to as ‘Paris of the North’ with its many bars, restaurants and outdoor cafes. This destination is what we like to call weather proof and ideally suited to those who are looking for fishing experience, but have a tendency to suffer from sea ‘sickness’. This destination, however, also offers some of the best Halibut fishing available, with the average size being a massive 20-30kg! Large Cod up to 20kg are also caught, as well as specimen sized Plaice. You may even be lucky enough to hook into a Monkfish, Starry Ray or Spotted Catfish!

River Plate Peacock Bass Are Biting! The First Reports From 2012...

blog story: River Plate Peacock Bass Are Biting! The First Reports From 2012...
As most of you will know the Peacock Bass fishing in Brazil is a relatively new tour to us, as we only added it online late last year, but already we are mpressed with the River Plate lodge set up, by the looks of this fishing report its not the only thing thats impressive... This is a report we recieved a few days ago for the first few weeks of the new year:

Week One

Fishing is very good despite yesterday’s and this morning’s slight rain. In only 2 ½ days, a total of 1.610 fish were landed by 38 anglers, 129 of which were in the 8 - 16 lb class, 2 in the 16-19 lb class and 2 in the 20-22 pound class. Since we do not overfish our private-water fisheries top water fishing continues to be quite productive: props for bait casting and poppers for fly fishing.

On the Branco, except for next Wednesday, forecasts continue to predict little or no rain. Water levels have fluctuated thru out the week from fair to good and, if 10-day forecasts are correct, peacock bass fishing should continue to be good at the lower end of the Branco’s tributaries, such as, River Plate’s exclusive private waters: Omero, Xeurini, Tapera, and Jufari.

Week Two

Fishing is very good despite Friday’s and Saturday’s rain which we had forecasted in our previous report. In only 2 ½ days, a total of 1209 fish were landed by 19 anglers, 78 of which were in the 8 - 16 lb class, 2 in the 16-19 lb class.

We have moved 5 of our 6 Floating Cabins to the Branco basin where forecasts continue to predict little or no rain except for next Wednesday. At our operations, water levels have fluctuated through out the week just below the jungle line and, if 10-day forecasts are correct, peacock bass fishing should continue to be good at River Plate’s exclusive private waters: Omero, Xeurini, and Tapera.
