Perfect Weather & Tides Produce Some Unbelievable Sport In Florida!

blog story: Perfect Weather & Tides Produce Some Unbelievable Sport In Florida!
Over the last few days we have been blessed with some perfect fishing conditions, which in turn has produced some spectacular angling action! For a change, both the fishing and weather gods have been good to us...

New customers, Martin & Andy, arrived at the weekend and we wasted no time in getting amongst some fish. Early Monday morning and we were on the water, the tides were perfect and there was a great sense of anticipation! We weren't disappointed, as we had five Tarpon strikes, landing 3 of them, with all 3 fish being over the magic 100lb mark! As the strikes went in the boat, Andy landed two of them one of 105lb and the other of 110lb. Martin only landed one, but this turned out to be the biggest! A beast of over 140lb. A right result all round!

Monday night and we were back out again, drifting Crab baits to feeding Tarpon produced another two fish over a 100lb, making it a stunning five time ton up on the day! Both fish were like peas in pod and estimated to be around the 120lb mark! What a cracking first day!

Again we awoke early this morning, after yesterday I think we all had trouble sleeping, as our thoughts were on the Tarpon! However this morning was a bit of a disaster, we managed to tempt six tarpon strikes but only managed to hook and land one fish, however it's kept our unbelievable big fish run going, as this was the biggest so far, estimated to be just over 150lb!

Anyway will keep you updated, we are now heading back out for the evening session.

I cant wait to get over and sample some of this action! The Tarpon have always been a fish thats amazed me! I think it goes back to the days of catching Herring when I was younger! But catching them to over 100lb I cannot even imagine!

Just returned from another great trip with Dave in Florida, largest Tarpon 180lb+ and Shark just under 200lb. Great fishing and great fun - worth the trip.
