Paul's Last Day, & A Change Of Luck, All Just A Little Too Late!
As we came to the end of the week, and Paul’s last fishing day, we were greeted with some glorious weather, the hurricane off the coast of Mexico has been downgraded to a Tropical storm, and things were looking up, albeit being all a little bit late!
We did manage to get to the back country today and were greeted with the usual stream of sharks providing entertainment throughout the day, nothing massive but fish up to around the 80lb-100lb mark. We fished hard for the afternoon and evening session in search for a Tarpon, but it simply wasn’t to be, the fish didn’t want to play ball. We tried numerous marks, baits and tactics, and we saw lots of fish, but they just weren’t feeding.
We headed back to home, and reflected on a rather indifferent week, it had been fantastic meeting Paul and we had some great laughs and caught some nice fish, its just a shame we were so unlucky with the weather, as we missed two full days fishing because of storms. I think I have managed to persuade Paul to come back next year, as once you’ve had a taste of what the keys has to offer, its very hard not to return!
Anyway it has been great reporting over the last couple of months, and I would like to thank all the customers who have been out with me, I have had some great time’s with some fantastic people, and between us we have caught some fantastic fish! Its back home for me now, and a couple of months off before I head out to India, so I guess I will see you then…
Until next time Dave P
