White Marlin are a highly migratory species. Sometimes they will travel alone and in others in small groups to increase their feeding opportunities. While white marlin typically roams deep waters, they will also approach areas that are normally too shallow for other marlin. We have often seen these fish very close in.

Some common favorites of the White Marlin include squid, herring, and sardines. White marlin will feed on whatever bait fish available. Groups of whites are often seen coordinating their efforts to congregate bait into a ball for feeding purposes. once the bait is in a tight ball each fish takes turns charging in slashing their bill, stunning fish that then can be easily picked off. This behavior is more commonly seen with Sailfish, but rarely seen in other marlin.
