If you want a temporary respite from today's busy and hectic world, a unique angling experience awaits you. Lose yourself in the hypnotic, relaxing sound of gentle waves breaking on shore, or get lost in the sewing machine purr of your spinning reel as you tangle with the mighty Sea Bass. This type of fishing is continuing to grow in demand from sports anglers who wish to catch these stunning silver beasts on more sporting tackle such as the Fly. This demand has made it harder and harder to find good qualified guides on unspoilt areas of coast line. Until now! Our guide is Sea Bass mad; this man has spent half his life chasing and learning the habits of these fish in his local town of Wexford. By combining this knowledge with latest up to date techniques and technologies, your chance of success are drastically increased. So just how good is this Bass fishing? Well, weather permitting Sea Bass come into casting range from the beach or rocks at certain times of the tide and at different places. That's where the experience of the guides is invaluable. It is not uncommon to catch 4 or 5 fish each per day. We have even had complete beginners learn to fish from scratch and catch fish on their very first day and one lucky beginner had an 8lb Bass on his second cast. The size of the Bass average around the 5lb mark but fish into double figures often get hooked but not always landed. This trip provides a fully guided package and includes accommodation, daily guiding, packed lunch, fishing permit and transport to and from your venues.
Note: All accommodation is self catering, tea, coffee, suger, milk, bread and butter are provided for you arrival.

Sea Bass fishing is mainly done by either Fly fishing or Spinning. Below is a list of suggested items to bring. Fly tackle should be a SW type 9'0" #9 with a floating and an intermediate line. If possible#6 can also be added for a special place we know where fish are in less than 20 inches of water. On one day we had nine to about 4lbs on#6 because conditions were just rights. Flies are simple - deceivers and clouser's chartreuse and white and blue and white and all white on size 1 to 2/0 hooks. Surface poppers and sliders also work well, For leaders you need fluorocarbon size 10lbs and 15lbs is fine. Lure anglers need a very good spinning rod - ie shimano coupled to good spinning reel. Reel should be loaded with braid about 25lbs. A shorter spinning rod for the boat would be a nice addition. Lures need to be a combination of Storm and Rapla's surface poppers and shallow divers. All the lures work well in this range. Lures with green and or blue in them tend to work very well. Suitable clothing would be, waders and wading boots, wading jacket or similar. Waterproofs for the boat if necessary and a pair of ankle boots for the boat also - no waders on the boat!! Note: Because of the vulnerable nature of some of our target species, we believe that any attempt to preserve this great resource is essential for the future. Future generations can then enjoy similar experiences; therefore we actively promote catch and release policy all fish will be returned live and well.
