Set in 17 acres and located only 1hour from Bangkok and about 20 minutes from the famous Krabi in Southern Thailand. Is the creation and dream of ex-pat Stuart Gillham from the UK, who built and runs this resort along with partner Benz, his son Sean and Sean's partner Noi.

This purpose built manmade fishery has a beautiful landscaped lake of around 9 acres which has been stocked with 26 exotic species, there’s, Arapaima (a species from the Amazon in South America) where in the wild its record size is 83kg! The biggest one caught at this resort so far was a 180kg (nearly 400lb) and this is not the biggest one in the lake. Other species include the Mekong Catfish up to 120kg. The biggest caught so far is 87kg and the current world record is 79kg. Siamese Carp up to 70kg with biggest to date going 45kg and the world record at 52kg. Another very popular species is the Red Tail Amazon Catfish which when stocked were up to 16kg. Biggest recorded so far is 32kg and they are averaging around 28kg. There are some Barramundi already in the lake with about another 30 about to be stocked in the 15 to 20kg range. Imagine how big they will be in the future considering the astounding growth rate already recorded by a number of species.

If you want to indulge in other activities whilst at the Resort you are only 19klm's from the lively seafront town of Ao Nang. The town boasts many top class restaurants, pubs, clubs and unspoiled white sandy beaches. In the surrounding national park there are hot springs and waterfalls with stunning emerald pools to take a refreshing swim after your walk through dense forests. Close by there is also some of the best elephant trekking in Southern Thailand. There is also horse riding, golf courses, shopping for copy designer named goods and souvenirs, boat trips to surrounding islands and white water rafting.

Gillhams Fishing Resort

Gillham's Resort consists of 14 beautifully appointed cottages right on the lakes edge, a Restaurant (with English and Thai chef), a big swimming pool and acres of lovely manicured gardens. Each cottage consists of 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. There is a shared bathroom in each cottage and all are air-conditioned. A balcony is also attached to each cottage and makes for a relaxing view over the lake. You can even sit on the balcony watching your rods waiting for that "monster" to take the bait.

3	After breakfast you will be picked up and transferred back to the airport. Fly from Bangkok to Krabi (Flight time 1 hour) On arrival you will be met by our staff from Gillhams before being transferred to the resort. Spend the rest of your day fishing Overnight accommodation: Gillhams Resort B/B
4 to 6	Full days fishing including: 2 rods, reels, alarms, terminal tackle, bait and experienced guides on hand. Overnight accommodation: Gillhams Resort B/B
7	Spend the majority of the day fishing, before being transferred back to Krabi airport and your return flight to Bangkok. On arrival you will be met by our Angling Direct Holiday's representative, who will then transfer you to the hotel accommodation of your choice. 8	Free day to relax and explore. At around 8 PM you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred back to BKK international airport. Note: You have your room until it is time to depart.

When you are ready to book your holiday, our consultants will take down all particulars and take a deposit payment, please make sure that before making any booking that you have read our terms and conditions. At the time of the booking we will ask you to correctly spell the first and last name of each traveling member, as some flights will need to be ticketed at the time of booking and due to airline regulations no name changes can be made, once a ticket has been issued. On receipt of the deposit we will send the lead booker a “Booking Form” and a deposit receipt invoice which becomes the legal contract between Angling Direct Holidays and your party.

All anglers will be supplied with 2x rods, reels, alarms, all end tackle plus free bait.

We use the following equipment:

Free spirit 10 foot 6 lb test curve cat tamer rods.
Shimano big pit long cast bait runner reels.
These reels are robust and have a superb drag system. The bait runners are, as expected from Shimano, the best.
All our reels are loaded with line from the Gold label range.
Nash outlaw and Fox electronic alarms.
Fox swinger indicators.
We use various end tackle and rig bits that give us the opportunity to present baits on the most advanced and safe rigs in various forms on the market today,
