We have worked long and hard with the tourist board to bring you some of the best Giant Cod fishing Norway has to offer. Working with our partners in Norway we can offer you fantastic sea fishing, traditional accommodation and self drive boats that are only a short flight away. Fishing Solbergfjorden is protected from the open sea by Senja, Norway's second largest island, the fishing conditions are therefore not affected by the rough sea and still provide the same fishing opportunities for Cod, Coalfish, Haddock, Redfish, Catfish, Halibut and mighty Salmon.

Fishing is conducted from our self drive boats, they are all Silver Viking 18 feet, with a 30Hp, four stroke electric start engines. The boats are very roomy and steady at sea ideal for upto four anglers. They even come equipped with echo sounders to allow you to fish right over the marks. The boats are moored right outside the accommodation on our custom built jetty. As these are all self drive you can fish as much or as little as you like, no time limits on these trips, if you want, you can fish until you drop. All boats also come with full safety equipment, life jackets and flares.

Norwegian Cabins

Our accommodation are purpose built self catering cabins. Imagine waking up to the waves hitting the jetty and birds singing outside your bedroom window, in a 40m2 cabin with bed space enough for four people divided up into two bedrooms. The mini kitchen contains a small oven, a microwave, a coffee maker and refrigerator.It also has a bathroom with a shower, a toilet, and sauna. Every cabin is equipped with a fridge containing over 100 litres of free space.

When you arrive at shore, you can prepare your catch at our outdoor barbecue, together with traveling mates or perhaps some new friends. The prepared meal can be enjoyed with delight, accompanied with soft sounds of waves hitting the shore and the midnight sun.

 

 

Suggested Itinerary

8 - Days / 6 - Days Fishing

Day 1 (Tuesday)	Depart LHR with SAS PM Arrive OSL PM Depart OSL with SAS PM Arrive BDU 8 PM (ish) After you have cleared customs, you will be greeted by our holiday representative. Transfer takes approx 30 mins. On arrival you will be meet by your host and shown to your cabin. The boats and fishing / petrol will then also be explained to you. At this point you will also need to pre-arrange with your guide when you would like to go shopping for provisions for the week. (Approx £10 per round trip) Overnight Accommodation: Norwegien Cabin R/O
Day 2 to 7	As you have your own boat there is no time limit to how much or how little you wish to fish and even at certain times of the year, it remains daylight for 24hrs. Overnight Accommodation: Norwegien Cabin R/O

When you are ready to book your holiday, our consultants will take down all particulars and take a deposit payment, please make sure that before making any booking that you have read our terms and conditions. At the time of the booking we will ask you to correctly spell the first and last name of each traveling member, as some flights will need to be ticketed at the time of booking and due to airline regulations no name changes can be made, once a ticket has been issued. On receipt of the deposit we will send the lead booker a “Booking Form” and a deposit receipt invoice which becomes the legal contract between Angling Direct Holidays and your party

Boat Fishing

1. 20lb to 30lb test boat rods or equivalent uptide rods
2. Multipliers loaded with 40lb braid
3. 40lb clear mono for leaders
4. Perks in various sizes and weights
5. Jelly worms

Shore fishing

1. Either bring your uptide rods which can then be used for shore fishing coupled with the multipliers used for your boat fishing. Or alternatively bring your standard beach fishing rods coupled with fixed spool reels, loaded with braid and mono shock leaders. Standard pennel rigs with either strips of fish or shellfish bought in the town as bait.
2. Cod, Pollock and whiting can also be caught spinning / pirking from the shore so make sure you have plenty of small pirks or shads.
