Our brand new news section
Welcome to Angling Direct Holidays news, designed to keep you informed of all new and exciting events happing in the world of fishing holidays. The last six months for us have been a very busy time. First, it was the banks and then the economic climate decline along with the strength of the UK pound reduced by 20% against the majority of the world’s currencies. Which has made it even more important that customers booking holidays make sure that an appropriate bonding and liability insurance such as the ATOL bond we have in place protect their hard-earned money before booking? We have seen a big increase in helping customers out of such situations trying to find fishing and accommodation to match existing flight arrangements due to small operators going in to liquidation.
On a more positive point the general decline in numbers of travelling anglers has opened up some before inaccessible areas, locations and prime weeks that we are now pleased to offer our customers. (See new destinations 2010) In addition, unlike some of the smaller operators our overall bookings have not declined which has provided us with even more purchasing power enabling us to renegotiate existing rates and absorb some of the price increases due to the weakness of the UK pound.
We have also been busy building ready for launch a brand new website, (Full details on back page) with lots more features and benefits for our customers, which even provide you opportunities to write reviews on previous trips or read reviews on trips you, would consider travelling too.
Again, we have listened to all your feedback and after the success of changing our Dave Plummer Florida holidays to 1-week segments, we have planed to do the same for India 2010 and what a year it has been for our group trips. Far too many to mention but starting with India, which was the best year for shear numbers of fish we have seen for over 10 years, Then Florida which is actually benefiting from the economic downturn as there are far less people fishing, which has resulted in our catch rates of 100lb tarpon soaring. Big Game fishing in Mexico again produced the numbers on our escorted week with one angler Derek Smedley catching in only 4 days 16 fish topped by a 150lb striped marlin.
This just leaves me to thank all our existing customers old and new for their continued support through these difficult times and we look forward in assisting you all in the future to old and new exciting fishing destinations.
