Pica Zuro Dove Shooting
Dove Shooting Pica Zuro Lodge Cordoba Argentina
For those who have never undertaken a dove shooting trip in Cordoba it is an experience which must rank as a ‘must do’ in any keen shot’s ‘list of things to do before you die’. Quite apart from the sheer volume of doves in Cordoba, the variety of the shooting is staggering. Birds fly simultaneously in almost every direction, breaking, banking and swirling with many at heights that will test even the most expert of shots. The birds fly literally in waves, darkening the skies and whether you wish to focus on sheer numbers or go for the most challenging shots the options are yours.

Jack Simpson Escorted trip Isle of Youth Cuba

blog story: Jack Simpson Escorted trip Isle of Youth Cuba
Hi all after a few days of rest in Havana I am back out to the Isle of Youth with clients, weather improved a little as the week progressed and so did the fishing, all detailed below.

Day 1

17 tarpon hooked today but only 5 fish landed by everyone, fish ranged from 60lb to 80lb

Day 2

A better day with 3 fish over 100lb and loads of Tarpon from 40lb to 60lb, all fish caught on the fly. Just goes to show you what a difference it makes when the sun comes out.

Day 3

A bad weather day again today hence fishing was difficult, we did however manage Snook to 10lb with a few small mangrove Tarpon around 20 to 30lb.

Day 4

Little bit of a better day, customers hooked and landed 12 Tarpon of the fly and all fish landed, no biggies but good fish all between 40lb and 90lb. Still makes for a good days fly fishing.

Day 5

The day was broken weather but fishing was good when we could at least see them, 30 Tarpon between 40ln and 70lb along with some more nice Snook up to 10lb.

All in all not a bad week and everyone has had a great time considering the conditions we have had to fish in. Just a shame that no big fish showed up as normal.

Not sure what the worlds weather is doing this year, but it seems to be a tough year so far on all saltwater destinations, perhaps the end of season cheap weeks will be a great deal this year as the weather seems around 6 weeks late.

Check out our Cuba trips and availability for June and July dates as, these are going to fish their head off.

Tight Lines Jack Simpsons
