India
India is known as the land of infinite variety, of wide-open spaces and exotic cultural treasures; be prepared to be mesmerised when you see magnificent temples, monuments or the sight of the Taj Mahal.
The subcontinent of India lies in South Asia, between Pakistan, China and Nepal. To the north it is bordered by the world's highest mountain chain, where foothill valleys cover the northernmost of the country's 26 states. Further south, plateaus, tropical rain forests and sandy deserts are bordered by palm fringed beaches. Side by side with the country's staggering topographical variations is its cultural diversity, the result of the coexistence of a number of religions as well as local tradition. Where else can you travel to snow clad mountains, green forests, watch the elephants and tigers in the jungle, bask in the sunshine on beautiful beaches; explore sandy deserts, fish and raft down famous rivers and calm quiet backwaters, all teeming with fish. If you’re interested in culture, heritage, wildlife or fishing, you couldn’t choose a better destination.
Fishing in India is both peaceful and relaxing; surrounded by stunning scenery and amazing wildlife, you can fish in both the North and Southern Hemispheres. First, in the North you can fish the mountain streams in the Himalayas for Brown Trout, Snow Trout or try for those beautiful golden bars; the Golden Mahseer. In the South you can join legends fishing the famous Cauvery River for world record size Mahseer, as did Colonels, Lords and Gentlemen many years before you. Each year we have fish to over 100lb and over the last 2 years we are achieving record numbers with our guests' catch reports. Now with over ten years fishing in India and hundreds of satisfied customers, Angling Direct Holidays is the number one tour guide for India.
