Golden Times In India! Read Dave Plummers India Blog...
Well its Thursday lunch time here and we are already well on the way through the second weeks fishing. The weather is still cold, especially at night, this in turn has made the river very cold, but it hasn’t put the fish off, as they are still keen to feed. I would say the weather seems to be around a month behind, but I am hopeful it will start to warm up as the weeks go on.
The river still appears in good condition, the waters quickly rising before subsiding in the same amount of time. The wildlife carries on surprising, with more Elephants, Wild Deer and Sloth Bears all making appearances since my last report. I think this year so far really has been a special year for the wildlife, In all my years of coming, I cant remember ever seeing as many weird and wonderful species in such a short amount of time.
Anyway enough of my ramblings! To the fishing…
Fishing has still been good, with many fish in the mid twenties providing fabulous sport. Huw James, who has landed some cracking fish already, shone once more with a beautiful 35lb Golden Masheer, Trev and Dale also got in on the action, both landing fish of 26lb. After landing the 67lber last week, John Wolfe was also on target once again with fish over 22lb. The group also lost a couple of real monster, with the fish powering off downstream and leading them a right merry dance for 15mins, before managing to shed the hooks.
All in all 5 start fishing so far, hope to speak again tomorrow.
Cheers Dave.
