Game Fishing Crocodile Bay Costa Rica

fishing overview
Come and go wild in Costa Rica with Bill and Rooster fish fishing in the Pacific Ocean.

Crocodile Bay Resort is Costa Rica's finest Costa Rica Fishing and Ecotour destination. The resort is situated on 44 acres of lush tropical gardens with 40 air-conditioned rooms in Puerto Jimenez on Costa Rica's South Pacific Coast (Osa Peninsula). The resort features a top of the line all-inclusive daily menu, swimming pool, hot tub, 5,000 sq foot luxury SPA and a conference centre that accommodates up to 80 people.

Rooms include hand carved furniture and many have private Jacuzzi baths. We also offer our own in-house ecotour department to assist you with tours and activities. Our ecotour department is fully staffed and professionally run by Alberto Herrera, Eco Director. Trips include rainforest canopy tours, visits to animal sanctuaries, orchid gardens, surfing lessons, kayaking, rainforest treks, bird watching, dolphin and whale watching.

The fishing is divided into two main areas; inshore and offshore with a variety of fishing options such as: live bait, trolling, surface poppers, jigging, and fly-fishing. For Inshore the species most sought after is the Roosterfish. 25lb to 50lb fish are very common with fish over 50lb caught each week. Offshore Sailfish are the main target; these fish are available year round and a half dozen are common any day. From November to May the numbers increase and days of 12 fish or more are common. If you ever fancied learning to catch billfish on the fly then due to the sheer numbers of fish raised, this has to be one of the top places anywhere in the world. Other species available are Marlin, Tuna, Dorado, Jacks, and Amberjacks. Our exquisite lodge features a top of the line daily menu, swimming pool, hot tub and full onsite health spa. Standard and deluxe rooms are spacious, each having two queen-sized beds and a private deck. All rooms have hot water with full shower/bath. Each day our chef will prepare a variety of dishes including fresh fish, chicken, or beef, with the guests only dilemma being which to decide on. The well stocked bar will provide you with local beers and national drinks as part of your package price, with imported liquors available at a nominal price.
