Escorted Sailfish Fishing Guatemala

overview
This is the ideal opportunity to fish for bill fish with us and the top boats in Guatemala, the perfect opportunity for single anglers to join to share both the fishing and cost of big game fishing. What’s more this trip which is new for 2011 is fully escorted by our head guide Dave Plummer. Anyone will tell you that Dave is one of the most respected guides in the UK, so it is with great excitement that we plan this trip for November 2011.

Why Guatemala? It is simple it is the best place that we know of in the world to raise fish, predominately Sailfish which on and average day we should see between 15 to 25 shots per boat per day, therefore if this is your first time big game fishing you will get to thoroughly enjoy all the excitement. Then for an amazing adrenalin rush why don’t you let us show you and teach you how to tease theses fish so close to the back of the boat you can cast a fly within 20ft of the stern, multiple hookups and constant action. Now watch in oar as they eat it with before trying to empty your reel. We promise you one thing, that you will relive this first experience in your mind for many many years.

The coastline and ecosystem support vast quantities of bait all year round and warm eddies that hold large pods of sailfish between 2 and 50 miles from port. Guatemala holds many official (and unofficial!) records for Pacific Sailfish. There is also good action for Dorado and Tuna if you want to bring something home for the table in the evening. In addition you may have the opportunity to hook up in to Blue Marlin which are around in considerable numbers during the season. Inshore you may find Roosterfish, Wahoo, Cubera Snapper and Amberjacks big enough to break your arm! Fishing occurs anywhere from 2-50 miles out from the breakwater, although it is more usual to find the fish in what is termed the “pocket” – a deepwater canyon that is 25 miles wide and with drop offs from 1000 ft to 5000 ft.

Our packages are all-inclusive; we will take care of you from the moment you land in Guatemala until we return you either to your hotel the evening prior to departure or to the airport on the day of departure.
