JUNGLE LODGES CAUVERY RIVER GALIBORE INDIA (3*)
The Galibore Fishing camp is tucked away literally far from the maddening crowd, deep in the deciduous forests on the banks of the River Cauvery. There is no habitation of any kind for miles around and the only sounds are the birdcalls and the whistling of the wind. Indeed the place gets its name from a windy hillock called Galibore, situated just behind the camp.
The Camp is in the middle of wilderness overlooking the River Cauvery, surrounded by hills. The Camp itself is covered with trees lining both sides of the river. This is ideal for those who want total privacy and no crowd. All food is included in the package and consists of basic Indian food, in a buffet style. Most is vegetarian with one or two meat dishes.

The Galibore camp provides a complete place to try to escape from it all; the site has main separate tents, a communal central eating area, where the majority of meals are served, apart from a barbeque on the camp pool beach. There is also a relaxing covered area ideal for drinking cocktails in the evening after a long days fishing. The camp has dotted around hammocks for those who wish to chill out in some dappled shade.
In the central office, there is a telephone that you can pay to use, however in 2009 a mobile phone that is GSM and capable of roaming will now receive mobile coverage.

Our camp has 10 tented huts with a large attached solid bathroom, cold water with western toilet, washbasin and shower. There are two beds, drawers, chairs and a fan. The floor is carpeted. The tents are basic but comfortable. Lighting is by oil and solar charged lamps.
