The holiday to Florida w/c May 1st 2010 was literally a dream come true. I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Ken, who I immediately got on with like a house on fire. We buddied up perfectly, and have since become very good friends, hopefully on a permanent basis.

In particular, if I was ever to go to Florida again (which may very well be next year!), it would preferably only be Ken that I was partnered up with. We had a whale of a time.

Dave was a star! Although he ripped shreds out of me for most of the trip, it was all in good humour (I eventually found out…!). Most of the time, I dug my own hole, though, so I asked for it….

He was very professional, but at the same time really good fun, and I was so pleased to have been in his company for that week. I would only ever want Dave to be my guide when I go back there. Fair play, he really knows his stuff. Very knowledgeable, and just kept putting us on the fish every day.

He was simply the best! 10/10

Regarding the location and accommodation, I couldn’t have asked for better. 10/10

And the fishing… funnily enough: 10/10

Have just returned from a week with dave Plummer in Florida. Fantastic can't think of any other words to sum up the whole experience. Please let me have next years Florida dates soon as you have them. Just book me up as I am hooked.

Thanks to everyone in the office for being so helpful, a refreshing change form other fishing holiday compaines.

What can i say other than what a fantastic week could`nt have asked for a better guide in Dave Plummer.

Hooked fish every session never stopped laughing each and every day. Met a great guy in my fellow angler Andy Glen thanks to these two guys had the best fishing experience of my life.

I`m already looking to book for next year. With luck along with Dave & Andy.

Once again thanks to you all at Angling Direct. Mr Plummer you are the man.

Hi Pete just a few lines to thank you and Angling Direct Holidays for a fantastic extended Florida Keys holiday

What a place to be stranded in! To fish with Dave Plummer for one week in the Keys is great but two even better, I learnt more about Tarpon fishing (and other worldly matters) from Dave during my stay than most people in a lifetime.

The fishing was great with plenty of large bright Tarpon of well over 100lbs caught plus many other species. The hospitality at Palm Drive was excellent, comfortable, good food & wine and lots fun thanks mostly to Dave. 

Thank you Dave, Pete and Angling Direct Holidays for a truly memorable holiday.

Just a few pictures for you and see you again next year

The first 2 days of my fishing experience were not what I expected and was not looking forward to the rest of the week.

On our first session I had an 80lb. Tarpon and lost others as I could not handle the strength of such big fish. During our Monday evening session again I had difficulties with a big fish Dave took the rod from me, seconds later the rod was dragged from his hand, the rod and reel lost to the sea forever.

During the following discussion with Dave I said I did not want to have any more to do with big fish and if any more were hooked the other fishing guest could take the rod and land the fish but not me.

The rest of the week was excellent, Dave took us in the mornings to fish the flats for bonefish, small sharks rays etc. Dave went off early each morning to buy prawns and I used a lighter rod and caught very many rays to 40lb. shark to 70lb. (they do-not fight as hard as Tarpon) and many other species. The other guest was also happy with this type of fishing in the morning. Each evening we would return to the Tarpon fishing area and I would continue fishing the lighter rod and catching interesting and sizable fish.

My only constructive comment would be that you as the tour operator should make sure that before each guest commits to a fishing trip that you do ensure that both of you do know what type of fishing they want and they know what's on offer at the location.

Your arrangements for my holiday were excellent, flights, pick-ups at the airport and return travel all on time

Firstly thanks to Dave & Lynda for a great trip. From the moment we arrived we where made welcome (with a large glass of wine) Despite the efforts of tropical storm Nicole we managed to fish on all but one day. I completed my grand slam of sharks and ticked the box for Tarpon & barracuda. We will be coming back next year. Tip of the trip - Dave can never have enough Mullet !
