Just a few words about my trip with Dave Plummer to Gillhams resort in Thailand. When we arrived I was stunned by the scenery, we first went on a walk around the lake and we were all shocked by some of the fish we saw, fish well over 100lb. The first days fishing were a bit slow, mainly because I was getting used to the water, but that didnt last as I soon caught my first, and best fish (not the biggest!). It was called a Black Tailed Shark Carp, there are only two in the whole lake and they are on the endangered species list! (Last two pictures).
I finished my two week trip with Siamese Carp to 80lb, Big Head Carp to 35lb, Red Tailed Catfish to 40lb, Araipaima to 180lb, with Featherbacks and Pacu added for good measure! The bungalows were great and the food was excellent. I was that impressed with the whole place that I booked again for next year on the day I arrived back!
I would recommend these items for anyone who is going to Gillhams, I know I will be taking these next time... Catapults, groundbait and boilie model, with lots of spare elastic. Hand and body lotion, as you spend quite a bit of time in the water! Some white cream flavour pop ups in 15mm, these caught alot of fish on our group!
