Dave Plummer Reports From India... Day Two
Morning all! Well another days fishing been and gone, and what a great day it was! As I said in my last report we were hoping for a little more water in the river, and the fishing/ weather gods must have heard me as like magic overnight the river levels rose three feet!
With this I was confident of a good day, and we certainly had one! Again for the second day running we landed over fifty fish, with the tally at a very respectable 54 Mahseer. This included lots of doubles and lots of twenty pound plus fish. The biggest fish of the day fell to Darren Slavin, who’s been off to a flying start, it weighed in a few ounces under fifty pound and put up a tremendous scrap. Fingers crossed for a few more fish this size over the next few days!
The weather has been ok, with temperatures in the low thirtys, but it has been cooler at night, according to the guides the weather is expected to warm up over the next few days which I’m hoping will bring a few of the better fish on the feed. The river is also still rising, which shouldn’t do our chances any harm at all.
Anyway we have some fish to catch, so I better get back to it.

This has wet my appetite for my trip next year! Some advice please regarding reels. Do i need levelwind on my multiplier or not? I was looking at the ABU 7000i, would this be any good?

7000 doesn't hold enough line get second hand abu 9000 on ebay, preferrably an older one then get it serviced.

Jack ,Perchy is exactly right a swedish build(old) 9000 or 9000c and service is the way to go.Try to get the servicer to fit new style carbon drag washers also, they cast better/further than any other reel
