Dave Plummer Reports From India For The First Time In 2012!
Well it’s the start of another season in India! Again, like last year I can’t believe how quickly its come round again! I’ve got my fingers crossed for another bumper year, if it matches last year then I’m sure we’ll have many happy anglers once again. As usual the camp is spot and the staff are all geared up.
The first group arrived on Sunday and were all eager to get fishing! It didn’t take long before everyone started to get amongst the Mahseer, with lots and lots of small fish coming to the Rahgi and crab baits. The two anglers fishing with me managed a couple of nice fish over 25lb, with Brian Naylor landing a nice fish of 26.5lb and Darren Slavin managing a cracker, which weighed in a few ounces under 39lb. I did hear of another couple of big fish lost further up stream, which had snagged anglers in the rocks and boulders on the bottom.
In total the first few fishing sessions have been very productive, with the Mahseer count currently standing at a very respectable 84 fish! This is excellent considering the river has been a little lower than ideal!
Anyway, I’ve got another hard day in fishing paradise so I best get to it! I’ll be in touch over the next couple of days with another update. Fingers crossed we’ll get a bit more water in the river too!
