Dave Plummer Report - Another Week, Another New Group!
The start of another week saw the arrival of some new clients, and the start of another weeks fishing. After the way the back country produced last week, the plan was to head up there for the first day, and this turned out to be the right move.
The first bait had only been in the water a matter of minutes before something took an interest in the live mullet, the float dancing about on the surface before slowly being dragged under, this produced our first fish of the day, a cracking black tip shark around the 70lb mark.
The action continued like this for most of the day, with the sharks of the back country providing some excellent sport. We landed 10 sharks to nearly 200lb, Steve caught the biggest of these, but Martin still landed them to 130lb. These consisted of a mixture of bull sharks and black tips. We didn’t land any Tarpon today but we did lose a huge fish, it must have been well over 150lb, coming clean out the water, before one shake of its head, saw it throw our hooks.
Some electric sport on the first day customers very happy and already talking about coming back next year! Fingers crossed the good fishing continues tomorrow.
