Great New Resort

Excellent
Mr. Jack
When the invitation came for me and my long time fishing buddy Richard Ward to go to visit this highly respected lodge in Ascension Bay in Mexico in June of this year we jumped at the chance, unfortunately we arrived with full blown tropical storms with 25 to 30 mph winds lots of cloud coming in from Belize. We new it was going to be tough particularly for the permit for which this area is renowned. Lefty Kreh rates Casa Blanca as the best place he knows to get a grand slam on the fly, a bonefish, permit and tarpon in the same day. What better recommendation could you want! There are also lots of snook so a super slam is also on the cards.
Our Mayan English speaking guide Gasper really worked hard to put onto fish, we caught lots of bonefish in big schools mainly 1 1/2 lbs to 2 lbs and had some nice individual fish to 5 lbs. Ascension bay is a vast area but we never travelled for more than 20 minutes from the lodge to be in a new location each day, with superb big wadable flats that seemed to disapear right the horizon.
The lodge was one of the best we have been to, great staff who really looked after us, and the food was superb and the lodge manager Bobby Settle put on some great evening entertainment with land crab racing, Mexican night and fly casting completions.
We were told that the prime time is the week before a ful moon in March so that is what I have booked for my hosted week in 2011 I hope you will join me.
