Brazil
Relax on exotic beaches, stroll along the cobbled streets of historic colonial towns, trek through the Amazon, add Iguazu Falls and Salvador de Bahia to the mix and already Brazil appears as one place you must visit.
Its the largest country in South America and it is the world's fifth largest country, both by geographical area and by population with over 192 million people. It is the only Portuguese-speaking country in the Americas and the largest Portuguese-speaking country in the world.
Bounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the east, Brazil has a coastline of 7,491 km (4,655 mi) and it is bordered on the north by Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname and the French overseas region of French Guiana; on the northwest by Colombia; on the west by Bolivia and Peru; on the southwest by Argentina and Paraguay and on the south by Uruguay. It borders all other South American countries except Ecuador and Chile.
Brazil is known for its' famed Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, its' endless palm-fringed northern coastline, the rain forests and river Amazon. However there's more to Brazil than beaches, rainforests and rivers! It's also a combination of festive Rio de Janeiro, golden baroque churches and rustic mountainside favelas. It's a tropical cocktail of sultry samba, outrageous carnival, football and of course fishing!
The Peacock Bass is what fishing in Brazil if all about, one of the world's toughest freshwater species, the peacock bass delivers hard hitting strikes, aerial acrobatics and power line-stripping runs, making it the ultimate target species for both the fly and lure angler. Put all these points together along with that of the whole Amazon experience and you have the fishing adventure of a lifetime.
what our customers have to say:
"In 6 days we caught over 20 fish in the 15-22 pound range. On the final day, Ruth could only endure 1/2 a day. Our shoulders were killing us but I couldn’t give up the last day. So, Glad and I hit a few repeat spots close to camp. in 20 minutes, I was rewarded with a 14 and 15 pounder and then a lifetime dream, a 25+ pounder crushed my lure for a 30 minute fight.." John Harkness
"I wish the trip could have lasted a week or 2 longer but there is always next season! Great fishing in a fantastic destination." Darren Shaw
"We had a great adventure – truly a unique experience – of catching & releasing Peacock Bass on the fly rod. They are a beautiful fish that puts up a great fight! We thank everyone involved." Chris Dawson
