Christmas Island has diverse habitats and endless flats, providing unique opportunities for both the novice and the expert fly angler.
It is one of the top Bonefish locations in the world; its location is so close to the equator that you can catch Bonefish all year round (unlike Florida or the Bahamas which experience cool winds). There are also vast numbers of Bonefish and even novice anglers can easily learn the craft of fly fishing and catch 10 plus fish a day. For the experienced fly angler the opportunity to cast your fly at large Bonefish awaits.
Our guides have been fishing and guiding these flats for many years. They know just which flats to be on for certain tides and certain moon phases. Each day anglers depart via truck or catamaran for the day's fishing. Virtually all fishing will be done while wading and entails sight casting to visible fish in shallow water. Christmas Island's plentiful Bonefish average 2-4 pounds with each week presenting numerous opportunities at larger specimens in the 5-10 pound class. For anglers keen on the challenge of Trevally, (Giant, Golden, Blue Fin, and Striped) the guides at Christmas Island are highly skilled and passionate in their pursuit. While presenting a somewhat higher stakes option to Bone fishing, the results are often spectacular.
