The fishing in the Northern Territories is considered to be one of the best tropical fly fishing destinations in the world. Its waters provide a variety of saltwater and freshwater fly fishing environments for both the experienced and novice fly angler. Fly fishing experiences range from sight casting in the clear flats, hooking pelagic fish in the blue water to precision casting amongst the mangroves. There are hundreds of kilometres of unspoilt coastline for you to explore, or just sit back and relax in the tranquility of a remote wilderness environment. The bays, inlets, rocky headlands, coral reefs and billabongs of the Northern Territories provide opportunities to fish for 250 recorded species, including Barramundi (famous for high leaps and strong runs), Spanish Mackerel, Barracuda, Trevally, Coral Trout, Golden Snapper, Jewie, Red Emperor, Cod, Queen fish and many species of Shark.
