Arkansas

Arkansas is a beautiful land of mountains and valleys, thick forests and fertile plains which attract visitors from all across the world; many are drawn by the abundant opportunities for outdoor activities and to live the American dream.

Also known as the Natural State, Arkansas, shares its border with six states, with the eastern border largely defined by the famous Mississippi River. Its diverse geography ranges from the mountainous regions of the Ozarks and the Ouachita Mountains, which make up the U.S. Interior Highlands, to the eastern lowlands along the Mississippi River. There are numerous attractions that make The Natural State a must see vacation destination. Amenities such as art galleries, live theatre, sporting events, irresistible restaurants, microbreweries, natural spas that include the thermal waters of Hot Springs National Park and charming small towns that lure travellers seeking a restful reprieve from the hurried pace of modern life. The damming of many rivers to generate electricity has facilitated good quality fishing in both natural and man-made lakes. It is these lakes and rivers, coupled with the excellent fishery stocking and management program that has made it such an ideal fishing destination for both the novice and experienced angler. Freshwater game fish such as Large Mouth Bass, Walleye, Crappie, Bream and Catfish can all be found in these waters, together with the mighty Striped Bass weighing between 25lbs and 40lbs, many of which are caught on a regular basis. You can also fish the rivers and tail waters from these dams, which can provide the fly angler with completely different fishing conditions within the same day, as the waters rise and fall in response to the demand for electricity. Low water offers great wading fishing, while float-fishing from a boat is ideal when the power generators are at work. Four species of Trout, (Brook, Rainbow, Cut-throat and Brown) provide exceptional fishing.
