Lures Lead The Way In India! Read Dave Plummers Recent Blog!

08 February 12

Good morning all! Another glorious morning here on the banks of the Cauvery river, the suns out, temperatures are rising and the fish are biting! It’s a hard job but someone’s got to do it! I’m sure it’s a little warmer here than it currently is back home...

Argentina

Argentina is largely unexplored and undiscovered by tourists and anglers alike, making this an adventure just waiting to happen. The Sea Trout fishing is extraordinary, with fish averaging 20lb, and with prolific Rainbow and Brown Trout fishing in crystal clear waters, amid a landscape that is varied and quite simply, stunning.

Argentina possesses some of the world's tallest mountains, expansive deserts, and impressive waterfalls. One such region of Argentina is Patagonia where you will find the Gallegos valley; it's a beautiful area with a grassy terrain and rolling hills, pure air and blue skies. It is also home to the spectacular Rio Gallegos fishery. Its headwaters, the Rio Penitents and the Rio Rubens, are born in the rugged terrain of Chile. Their confluence, near the Argentinion border, form what most knowledgeable Sea Trout anglers consider to be one of the finest rivers in the world. The Gallegos runs for over 300 km through country originally formed by glaciers, with volcanic hills and plains, and finally finishing its trek in a wide, open coastal plain leading to the Argentine Sea. Whilst home to such varied wildlife as the guanaco, puma, rhea, wild mustang, mountain goat, fox, flamingo and goose, human habitation is sparse, with only a few ranches and one town called Rio Gallegos. Argentina not only offers first rate fishing opportunities but also extremely high standards of lodge accommodation, passionate fishing guides and hospitality second to none. A range of additional activities such as horseback riding, bird watching and hiking are enough to entice you to this country in their own right. If you would like to catch large numbers of huge Sea Trout in unbelievable surroundings, then make this country your first choice, as it has to be one of the best fresh water fly fishing destinations in the world.
