Arctic Cod on the Island of Reinøya Finnkroken Norway

overview
With the overwhelming success and demand for sea fishing destinations in Norway, we have been working hard to try and expand our business there, trying to find new lodges in some of the best fjords, to offer our customers some of the best sea fishing the country has to offer.

And so we bring you our brand new destination - Finrokken, situated on the southern tip of the picturesque Island of Reinøya.

Reinøya is a typically inviting and beautiful North Norwegian rural district set amid wild and majestic nature, yet still close to the city of Tromsø. The surrounding islands offer wonderful nature-based adventures, the site of a former whale station and a charming church, which is still in use today. The local hall houses a weaving studio, Galleri Berger and a fascinating district museum. It’s the place to experience genuine North Norwegian cultural heritage. A visit to Reinøya will enrich your holiday experience and provide life-long memories.

But why pick Reinøya…? Well it’s situated in the very North of Norway, on the edge of the arctic circle, where the deep, cold, clear waters make the perfect habitat for the huge Cod, Halibut, Coalfish and Haddock that Norway is famous for.

Fishing is from our self drive boats, which are Rana 530’s, these boats are 18 feet in length with a 40 hp engine and are able to take up to four anglers. The boats come equipped with echo sounders and sea charts to help you locate the large shoals of cod and coalfish. The boats are moored right on the edge of the fjord, just a few paces away from the accommodation on our custom-built jetty. As these are all self-drive, you can fish as much or as little as you like, no time limits on these trips, if you want, you can fish until you drop. Being so far to the north, means during the peak seasons its light almost 24 hours a day. All boats also come with full safety equipment, life jackets and a 24hr mobile telephone number for any difficulties while fishing.

We are also able to offer our very own charter boat, the Tromsø Båtcharter, which can be booked if you wish to explore the fishing grounds a little further a field in the open waters of the Norwegian Sea. Or perhaps simply you would like someone else to do the navigating for a day or two! This can be booked before your trip and the prices are negotiated on request.
