Another Hectic Days Fishing On The Keys - Dave Plummer Report

blog story: Another Hectic Days Fishing On The Keys - Dave Plummer Report
Two new customers arrived for the start of another week and the start of another weeks fishing. The weather was a bit touch and go, with winds gusting to 25mph, but that wasn’t enough to stop us, we still got out and managed to catch a few.

We fished with the jigging rods, while the livebait rods were left to work on there own, keeping a close eye on them throughout the day. To start we had a steady stream of Lady Fish, Spanish Mackerel and Snappers, which kept everyone entertained and produced some excellent overall sport. We were interrupted many times throughout the day, with the livebait sleeper rods coming to life at regular intervals. We would watch as the floats started to move around on the surface, as the livebaits started to twitch frantically below, then we would wait for the tell tale signs from the rachet, the classic tick tick tick, its like the scene from jaws! We landed around half a dozen sharks, and lost a couple more, the best of these was a cracking 70lb black tip.

So overall we had a great first day, the customers really enjoyed it and cant wait to get back out tomorrow, I think the wind is ment to ease off tomorrow, so it should be ideal conditions after the blow we have had today. Fingers crossed for some more Sharks and hopefully some Tarpon! Until tommrrow... Dave
